Tiago Macedo, originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but raised in Texas has been immersed in music for most of his life. A versatile musician, Tiago has performed on stages such as the Dallas International Guitar Festival, the State Fair of Texas, and the Denton Arts and Jazz Festival. While pursuing a BM in Jazz Studies at UNT, his arrangement of “Takarajima” won the L-5 Guitar Ensemble first place at the 2025 International Collegiate Guitar Ensemble Festival: Jazz/Pop category, while he held the ensemble’s principal chair in the spring. Tiago continues to refine his craft at UNT and push new musical boundaries.
