Tyler Jones

Tyler Jones is a trumpet player and educator from Columbus, Ohio. He attended the University of North Texas, where he served as lead trumpet of the seven-time Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band. He was also a member of both the UNT Wind Ensemble and the Zebras Commercial Ensemble, winning a DownBeat Award with the latter in 2023.

During his time at North Texas, Tyler studied under acclaimed trumpeter and bandleader Rob Parton, as well as Kyle Sherman and Dr. Brian Walker. He has performed with a wide range of artists, including Lyle Lovett, Michael League, Helen Sung, Pupy Santiago, Mike Williams, Billy Childs, Alison Miller, the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, and the Sundance Square Big Band, among others.

Tyler will soon enter into service as a lead trumpet player for a U.S. Air Force Regional Band, marking the next chapter in his professional career.
